Golf balls are a hot topic these days. Honestly, I don't know if it's all hype and marketing, or if there is some truth behind the technology of these golf balls. All I know is this, when you use one of the range balls you find lying around the woods on your local golf course, they never seem to go as far, spin as much, or feel quite as nice. So maybe there's something too it. But here's something else I know, golf balls are expensive. And there's no better place to get great deals on Titleist balls than eBay.
Titleist Pro V1
Let's start with the staple golf ball of the 21st century. The Pro V1 is basically the industry standard among playing pros because it feels great, goes long, and has very high durability. When you think about how far the golf ball technology has come in just the last few years, it's amazing to this how great this ball is compared to what preceded it: The Tour Balata and Professional (both terrible).
"But when you get down to it, the reason so many pro's play the Pro V1 is because of what they can do with it from 100 yards in. For putting and chipping, you just can't beat the feel."
Titleist Pro V1x
This is the 1st cousin of the Pro V1, basically the same ball with a slightly different cover. Somehow, they say that this ball is better in every way to the V1, but I'm not so sure. I've used both and I happen to like them both equally. That doesn't mean this ball is better or worse than it's V1 cousin. I would say the average golfer couldn't tell the difference when placed in a blind test. So go with whichever one you can get your hands on, or the one you can get cheaper
"There is a reason that Titlesit Pro V1x's are the most played ball on the PGA Tour. They simply out-preform the other balls on the market."
Titleist NXT Tour
It's a really respectable golf ball. You wouldn't have expected it to be so much better than the tour prestige, but it is. I would play this ball all day long. The good thing about this one, when compared to its counterparts, is that it costs a bit less and last longer, but you aren't really compromising on any part of your game. It's a good choice.
"OK I NEVER write reviews but after searching for the correct ball for this 12-14 handicap golfer I found it."
Titleist NXT Extreme
If you're playing a ball with the words Extreme in the title, I think we know what you're after. You want to hit the crap out of the ball, and hey, who am I to stop you. Go for it. Grip it and rip it! Sometimes you just need a ball designed to do one thing, go far. This ball is designed to do just that, but with a little bit of finesse around the greens that most people need. It's a good ball for most golfers.
"The NXT golf balls are great for those that shoot in the 80's. You don't get the same feel or control that a ProV1 offers, but if you shoot in the 80's you likely don't have the ability to warrant it."
Titleist DT Carry/Roll
This is Titleist's cheap ball. Again, in comparison to what sort of ball preceded this one, it's a huge improvement. I wouldn't hesitate to play around with it. If you're a beginner, or someone looking to play a quality ball without paying as much as the Pro V1, it's a good choice. I'd suggest stepping it up a notch though if you plan on getting serious about putting or your short game.
"The Titleist DT Roll golf ball allows golfers that play in windy conditions, on links style golf courses, or need a little more distance, to play with confidence. The Titleist DT Roll golf balls combine a new resilient core technology with more dimples to produce it's boring trajectory. Great for people that live in Texas or the coastal states where wind is a huge factor."
